Detonating Fuse

A detonating cord is used for firing operations/blasting operations but unlike the normal cord which has black powder in it, the detonating fuse has a highly explosive PETN as a core and the PETN is enclosed with many coverings which Is finally covered with a PVC coating which helps the chord from getting any external effects on it. Like PETN, the detonating fuse is triggered by shock or friction. It is mostly used for open blasting and cap-sensitive explosives. The Detonating Fuse is available in 6.0 grams/meter, 7.5 grams/meter and 10 grams/meter varieties.


Detonating Fuse is a flexible cord containing a uniform core load of PETN that ensures positive initiation of cap-sensitive explosives along the entire length of the fuse. This high explosives core is protected to with-stand physical abuses and exposure to extreme temperatures. Detonating fuse is relatively insensitive to detonation by friction, shock or electric discharge and requires a proper initiation for detonation.

 Detonating Fuse is wound on reels and packed in Laminated Corrugated Fibre board cases.

 It can be used in Surface trunk lines, Secondary blasting and Down lines in Small diameter holes. For use in Under water blasting, Long hole blasting, Places of high altitude, near High voltage transmission and all conditions in Mining, Construction and Quarrying. Special applications such as Seismic prospeting, Pre-sclitting and Dimensions tool industry.
